Hazelmere

Hazelmere is a community located in South Surrey and shares its southern border with the USA. When it comes to land use, Hazelmere is comprised mostly of farms and acreages. It is widely known as the gateway to the United States with two major boarding crossings nearby and for its two golf courses; the Hazelmere Golf and Tennis Club and the neighboring Peace Portal Golf Course.

If you do a Google search for “Hazelmere” you will be introduced to the Hazelmere RV Park and Campground that has everything from cabins, hookups, and tenting.

Heritage Sites

When you visit the area you might notice a number of older homes and barns which were built in the 1920s. Heritage sites in the area include the Heritage Cemetery, Hazelmere United Church Annex and the Hazelmere United Church that was built in 1903 and is still operating today.

Recreation

The main recreational activities in the area are golf, tennis, and horseback riding. Some of the quiet country roads like 0 Avenue are great for cycling too. Hazelmere Golf and Tennis Club also has a nice restaurant and banquet facilities.

Schools

The only school in the community is Halls Prairie Elementary School. Older students are bused or driven to school like Earl Marriott Secondary School.

Real Estate

Up until today, Hazelmere was known for farms and acreages but development and industry are beginning to move into the area. There is a range of houses in the area from old farmhouses to large mansions.
