April marked 20 years since my husband Scott Waddle started Precision Auto Service to offer customer-oriented auto care to Langley, BC. Our community-focused business grew out of Scott’s life-long passion for cars and still maintains his philosophy of “we worry about your car so you don’t have to.”
Scott grew up in the Surrey/Langley communities and in 1997, he opened the business, with the help of a technician friend. Within mere months he moved that technician to full-time, and the business grew from there. Scott’s vision has always been to provide Langley with quality car-servicing, honestly, and with integrity. I think the results show if you speak to our customers. They know they can trust Scott and his team. After 20 years in business, there are even second-generation customers putting their cars into the hands of Precision. In fact, Scott was nominated for the George Preston Business Person of the Year award which speaks volumes even though my husband can be quite shy about his accomplishments.
Customers know they can trust Precision to deliver the best, most cost-effective service possible with factory diagnostic equipment, a computerized repair and service information system and technicians who are fully-qualified with the most recent training available. We’re really proud to offer this type of service.
A lot has happened within our tight-knit team over the past two decades. Scott met and married me, Jackie. I joined the team at Precision in 2011. We’ve had two children (our son Michael and our daughter Megan) since he opened the business. Scott hired
technician Luke who has been with us for 18 years (having joined Scott when he was just 19) and he too has married and had two kids during the time Precision has been around.
Carl, another long-time employee of 11 years, got married and he and his wife just welcomed their first born (a baby girl) a few months ago. Service Adviser, Lawrence, is the front guy everyone knows and loves. He will be celebrating 12 years with the
Precision family this year. We’ve have also had the pleasure of adding Norm and Brian to the team.
Stories like these are the standard at Precision where employees of over a decade in tenure are common even though it’s unusual in the industry. I think a lot of it comes fro Scott’s leadership. He’s an active Vice Chairperson in the Automotive Retailers Association, a member (and past director) of the Langley Chamber of Commerce and part of a number of local networking groups.
Special touches are important to us. As a locally-owned, independent repair and service facility, we provide safe, reliable transportation to Langley, Aldergrove, Surrey and Abbotsford residents – and our team lives in the same communities as our customers. That’s why we also support fundraisers and a number of local initiatives that support people in our community like the Township’s adopt a street program, Kimz Angels, Think Generously Society, local schools and sports teams, Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation and Langley Hospice, just to name a few.
We want to keep doing business in the community we live in. So we purchased new property at the corner of 232nd Street and Fraser Highway. We’ve been not-so-patiently waiting for our building permits, so start watching the corner for action! The new
location will feature more a west coast groove, service bays, extra space for coordinating businesses and killer landscaping! We’re even keeping the big old trees on the corner.
Ultimately, it’s about family and taking care of others close to home.
In fact, our 14-year-old Michael may just take a look at your car the next time it’s in – he’s become very interested in the business.
