I’ve been drooling over Madeline Bee’s Instagram feed for quite some time and had to stop by to say hi and see the store in person. I loved the clean brightness & artfully eclectic mix of vintage and modern textures, furniture and gifts. My son and I were warmly welcomed, and I kept on saying “I can’t wait to own a house again so I have room for all of this amazing furniture & home décor!”
Madeline Bee is co-owned by mother & daughter team Jacqueline & Brianna Webb, who have lived inWhite Rock since 2010 and 2012. They said, “We love living in a seaside community- White Rock is one of the most beautiful cities we have ever seen and feel very privileged to live here”.
What’s up with their business name? “The name Madeline Bee is a combination of our three-generations (Jacqueline & Madyn make Madeline combined and Bee is for Brianna).”
Jacqueline & Brianna have been in business since May 2016. They offer a beautiful French-inspired collection of vintage and new home accessories as well as re-purposed furniture & upholstery pieces. They also offer re-upholstery and furniture painting service, which have proved to be popular. “We are all about re-purposing, renewing, revamping and recreating quality furniture pieces”.
Madeline Bee was created from a deep passion for eclectic home furnishings. Re-purposing furniture has been in their family for over twenty-five years. “It is in our blood and we thrive best while thinking outside of the box. Our customers appreciate our level of creativity and the constant change-up that our store offers”. Madeline Bee never looks the same two weeks in a row. “Our inventory changes daily, so we encourage you to check back regularly”.
Their philosophy is finding new purpose for previously loved but out-dated quality furniture pieces and giving them a fresh new look for years to come. They also have a unique selection of rare architectural finds that are perfect for making that ‘one of a kind’ statement in your home.
Jacqueline & Brianna also just launched a French-inspired kids’ clothing line, Madeline Bee Kids for boys and girls. Their clothing is lovingly, sustainably & ethically designed and made in Vancouver, with soft organic help cotton.
“As linen lovers, at first, we wouldn’t consider an alternative until we felt the hemp organic cotton for ourselves. The natural wrinkle, the softness and how light-weight it is… it was a match made in heaven!”
All of their garments are proudly gentle for our earth. Natural fibers are breathable and temperature regulating but they also hang beautifully and are extremely durable. “This is what is important to Madeline Bee Kids and to us as parents—that our children and grandchildren have access to eco-friendly, ethically-made and thoughtfully designed clothing for all their years of play”.
Madeline Bee is an active community supporter, including the White Rock Princess Party & local charities by providing auction items or lending out furnishings to help decorate these events. “Our business supports our planet by repurposing furniture. Also, by offering these services, we give quality pieces of furniture a second life. We constantly salvage pieces that would otherwise be dropped off at the landfill”.
